October is Mental Health Awareness Month, drawing our attention to an issue that touches us all in different ways. It also reminds us that we can all do something to support ourselves and others. This year Mental Health Awareness Day is on October 10 and the 2023 themes are ‘Awareness, Belonging, Connection’, reflecting the important factors that can help us all maintain positive mental health and wellbeing. It is about connecting with others and creating space for conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

In celebration of Mental Health Day 2023, join us at Elwood Beach for a health and wellbeing conversation and immersive experiences, including breathwork, connection and meditation… and perhaps even a cold dip!

Location: The Angling Club, Elwood Beach

Date: Thursday 26 October 2023

Time: Please arrive at 5:45pm for a 6pm start

Bring: Yoga mat, optional bathers and towel

Price: $25, Concession $15 – includes MMA gift bag. All funds raised will go directly towards Mind Medicine Australia, with 50% going to supporting advocacy efforts and 50% going to MMA’s Patient Support Fund.

Dr Deb Roberts

Deb Roberts grew out of a deep longing to share lived experience in various capacities through yoga, meditation, speaking and writing services to individuals, groups and corporates. Deb has had a lifelong relationship with mental (ill) health yet been able to navigate a fulfilling existence through various means.

She has had two family members who have ended their life seeing no treatment pathway forward. One was her older sister who had tried countless medicine combinations, therapies and facilities over 30 years. Deb’s pathway is to continue a life worth living and advocate for treatment options including the use of psychedelics.
