Melbourne Community Event: Yoga, Voice, Kirtan and Mantra Workshop with Heidi Trigar and Tania de Jong AM

With Heidi Trigar and Tania de Jong AM

Date: Thu 01 May 2025 @ 7:00pm
Location: Level 4, 479 St Kilda Road Melbourne VIC 3004

Our Melbourne event series is an opportunity to come together to connect and create space for your mental health and well-being.

Our May event will be facilitated by Heidi Trigar and Tania de Jong AM.

Topic: Yoga, Voice, Kirtan and Mantra Workshop

Our community Yoga, Voice, Kirtan, and Mantra experience is designed to guide you on a transformative journey, where movement and voice unite to elevate vibrations and awaken collective healing energy.

Together we’ll move through a guided practice of Yoga movement led by Heidi, flowing into Voicework with Tania and finishing with Kirtan, an ancient form of Yoga, called Bhakti Yoga.

Heidi and Tania will then lead us through Kirtan, with an immersive sound and chanting practice as we repeat Sanskrit mantras over and over, as part of a unique and blissful meditative experience. These chants have been sung for millennia by Sages, Devotees and Yogis from all around the world. This session offers a beautiful chance to strip back all that is unnecessary so that we can deepen and dissolve into the bliss of sound and vibration.

Conversation and light refreshments will follow the main session.

All are welcome! Limited places are available.

I believe in the magic of movement, myth and sound—the way they can shift energy, crack us open, and bring us home to ourselves. We are vibrational beings, weaving through space with the resonance we create, and when we move with intention, something truly alchemical happens. Sharing this practice isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.

My harmonium is never far from my side, and mantra pulses through my life like a heartbeat. Kirtan, the Sanskrit language, and the power of sound have taught me that some of the most potent medicine can’t be bottled or bought—it’s felt, sung, and lived.

My love of myth, mantra, and storytelling is woven into everything I share. I believe mythology isn’t just something to be studied—it’s something to be embodied. Through ancient tales of gods and goddesses, archetypes, and energies, we find mirrors of ourselves, deeper understanding, and a connection to something timeless. Whether through asana, music, or meditation, these stories move through every experience I guide.

Before yoga, I was a dancer and choreographer, endlessly fascinated by how bodies move, express, and transform. Years of guiding movement have shown me that the smallest shifts can create the deepest change. I love the human body—its intelligence, its poetry, its ability to hold both strength and surrender. And I believe that when we commit to this practice, we don’t just move—we awaken.

I’ve studied with incredible teachers, immersed myself in ancient wisdom, and woven it all into a practice that is alive, evolving, and deeply personal.

So, let’s meet on the mat for Yin and Vinyasa. Let’s sing, breathe, and remember what it feels like to be fully alive. Wherever you are in the world, I’d love to share this journey with you.
